Cecil "Wayne" Jenkins
February 25, 1952 - November 1, 2023
Cecil “Wayne” Jenkins, age 71, passed away at Lakeview Hospital in Covington, LA, on November 1, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Washington Parish and retired in 2017 from Double D Meat, Inc after 42 years. Mr. Wayne was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and won first place in several shows for his squirrel dog training.
Mr. Wayne is survived by one son: Jimmie Scott Brant (Kelly); four brothers: Jimmie Jenkins, Kenneth Ray Jenkins, Galmarie Jenkins, and Ricky Jenkins (Brenda); two sisters: Linda Whaley (Jack) and Debbie Jean Williams (David); four grandchildren: Kristian Jones, Amber Magee, Ashlyn Brant, and Tyler Scott Brant; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Brenda Gayle Jenkins; one son: Lane Brant; and his parents: Talmage and Eloise Jenkins.
Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Monday, November 6, 2023, a visitation will take place in the funeral home chapel from 9AM until time of service at 11AM. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Rester Cemetery in Varnado, LA. Services will be officiated by Bro. Doyle Ball.
