Betty Joe Knight Carter

Mrs. Betty Joe Knight Carter, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 75. Betty enjoyed gardening, shopping, and being with her family. She especially adored her time with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her three children, Traice (Ed) Martensson of Pearl River, LA, Susan (Mark) Green of Baton Rouge, LA, and James Larry Carter, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; her grandchildren, Peyton (Sam) Bowman, Eddie (Amilynne) Martensson III, Kerigan (Jeff) Green, Cannon (Ashlee) Martensson, Ethan Martensson, Hunter Martensson, Nicholas Martensson, and Nora Carter; and her three great grandchildren, Sailor Grace, Eddie IV, and Haislee Martensson. She is also survived by her brother, Cannon (Jill) Knight, Jr.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James L. Carter, Sr.; a granddaughter, Kymber Nezat; and her parents, Cannon and Velma Knight, Sr.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, at Plainview Baptist Church from 9:00 A.M. until time for the service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Scott Breland officiating the service. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
