Lucretia Noelia Verdin Cerigny, a resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. She was born September 18, 1932 in Golden Meadow, LA and was 91 years of age. 

She is survived by her 7 daughters, Patsy Shepherd and husband Steve, Wanda Batson, Donna Cerigny, Frances Husson and husband Charlie, Mary Martin and husband John, Tammy Payne and husband Mike and Renee Butler and husband Ben; 1 son, Andre’ Anthony Cerigny; grandchildren, Wayne Landry, Ricardo Ali, Megnon Ali, James Shepherd, Jeremiah Shepherd, Melaun Shepherd, Dyron Cerigny, Daquay Cerigny, Lena Batson, Leon Batson, Lucretia Myra Batson, Tracy Cerigny, Stacy Cerigny, Christinna Cerigny, Areka Gomez, Mandy Cerigny, Mindy Pikey, Jenny Martin, Jade Martin, Thomas Gerald, Kenneth Butler and Karissa Butler;  great-grandchildren, Christian, Devon, and Jolie Wrenn, Hayden, Rider True, and Raven Ali, Brandon Badon, James, III, Taylor, Abigail, and Kayla Shepherd, Dakota Batson, Cheyenne Wehmyer, Sheena Batson, Draylin Hayden, Brandon Payne, Ali Payne, Cameron Martin, AJ, Emily, and Chelsey Cerigny, Jeman and  Jimmy Arceneaux and Mia Alfred, Peyton and Briana Gomez, Hope and Ronald Cerigny, Walter Kaufman, Hank Yates, Cassie Pikey, Ashlin Cabibi, Savanna Bangs, Charles Pons, Aleeah Martin, Julia and Thomas Gerald, Jr., Magdalyn and Jonathan Cerigny and Alayah Butler; great-great-grandchildren, Hayes and Hudson Hayden, Nolan and Baylor Dykes, Joel Clouatre, Alex Chighizola, Hayden Arceneaux, Zayden Nunez, and AJ Cerigny, Jr.. Preceded in death by his parents, Valentine Serigny and Narcina Dardar Serigny; sisters, Alzier Verdin, Valentine Dardar, Mitia Riggs and Bridget Boquett; brothers, Milton Serigny, Joseph (Buron) Serigny, George Serigny, James Raymond Serigny, Ulysse Serigny Sr., Mitchel Serigny, Lixie Serigny and Meguel Serigny; and numerous Cousins, Aunts, Nephews and Nieces. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Andre’ Simon Cerigny; sisters, Marie Vezier, Helen Caulfield, and Rose Marie Serigny; brother, Anthony Verdin. 

Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Thursday and from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Friday, November 3, 2023. Interment Colonial Cemetery, Independence, LA.
