Obituary

Lindsey Ray Short

March 14, 1953 - October 4, 2023

Lindsey Ray Short transitioned to eternal rest on October 4, 2023, at The Hospice House in Slidell, LA at the age of 70. His final moments were spent peacefully with visits by family and close friends.

Known for his humorous personality, Ray will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ray's family asks that he be remembered for the joy he brought to others in life, not the sadness of his passing.

He is survived by a host of family and friends.

Ray was born to the late Curtis Short, Sr. and Bernice Short on March 14, 1953. Lindsey Ray Short attended Central Memorial High School/Bogalusa High School. After high School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. After his departure from the military, he went on to perform various jobs.

Ray was always fun to be around. He would light up any room with his infectious laughter and witty sense of humor. His generosity knew no bounds, and his presence at family gatherings was a guaranteed good time. The world was truly his playground. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but there is comfort in knowing that he left great memories and joy that will stay in our hearts forever.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Sr. and Bernice Short; sisters, Annie Burnette and Kathlean Baham; brothers, Carlton, Turonnie, and Curtis Jr.; maternal grandparents, Annie B. Cockett and Louis Gray; paternal grandparents, Tom and Elnora Short and a special nephew; Calvin Short and other relatives

Cook-Richmond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
