The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of 33 year-old Morgan Freche of Loranger, following an investigation of sexual misconduct with a minor. Allegations of misconduct date back to approximately two years, according to the press release.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards says Freche turned herself into detectives this morning (October 3, 2023) and she was charged with Third Degree Rape, Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (4 counts), and Oral Sexual Battery.

On September 28, 2023, Sheriff Edwards confirmed that a report was taken on Sunday (September 24, 2023), alleging a 17-year-old male fathered a child with a Tangipahoa Parish School System employee. At that time, Edwards stated (in part), "While we cannot share specific details regarding the investigation, we can confirm that the allegations were dealt with promptly, and the investigation process has been rigorous and thorough,"
A representative with the Tangipahoa Parish School System confirmed that the teacher implicated in the investigation recently resigned from her position.
