James Larry Carter, Sr.
April 15, 1948 - September 6, 2023
Mr. James Larry Carter, Sr. a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 75. James enjoyed reading Western Novels and watching Westerns on T.V. He also enjoyed being outdoors gardening as well as hunting and fishing but most of all he adored spending time with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Carter of Baton Rouge, LA; his three children, Traice (Ed) Martensson of Pearl River, LA, Susan (Mark) Green of Baton Rouge, LA, and James Larry Carter, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren, Peyton (Sam) Bowman, Eddie (AmiLynne) Martensson III, Kerigan (Jeff) Green, Cannon (Ashlee) Martensson, Ethan Martensson, Hunter Martensson, Nicholas Martensson, and Nora Carter; and also his three great grandchildren, Sailor Grace, Eddie IV, and Haislee Martensson.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Murtis Carter and a granddaughter, Kymber Nezat.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Plainview Baptist Church from 12:00 P.M. until time for the service at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Scott Breland officiating the service. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
