Georgia Faye Rester Barber

Georgia Faye Rester Barber, age 80 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Thursday morning September 7, 2023 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1943 in Columbus, Georgia. Georgia was a longtime active member of Victory Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the bag factory of the Bogalusa paper mill and later spent most her time raising her family and taking care of her home. Georgia enjoyed painting and swinging on her porch swing while visiting with her family and friends.
Survived by: Husband of 57 years: Thomas Gerald Barber; Son: Christopher Cunningham; Grandchildren: Karyn Rester, Jeremy Black; Sisters and a Brother in law: Eloise Rester, Marie and Nathan Carroll; Also other extended family members
She was preceded in death by her parents George Rester and Alice Creel Rester, grandson Christopher Odom, sisters Cheryl, Mary, Betty Jean and Shirley.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday September 10th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Larry Archote and Rev. Larry Sylvest officiating.
