Charles Gary Touchstone

February 19, 1957 - September 16, 2023

Charles Gary Touchstone, age 66 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Saturday afternoon September 16, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 19, 1957 and raised in the Bogue Chitto Heights area of Franklinton by his parents, the late Charles Hunter Touchstone and Elma Thomas Touchstone. Gary was a Class of 1975 graduate of Franklinton High School. After graduation, he worked for Borden’s Inc. at the milk plant for several years. He then began a 25 year career at Rayborn Correctional Center before retiring as a Sergeant Master correctional officer. His favorite activities were going on cruises with his wife and family members and going on long “road trip” vacations, including several motorcycle trips to Florida, the mountains and other areas around the country. Gary was a longtime active member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survived by: Wife of 45 years: Donna Miller Touchstone of Franklinton; Son and Daughter in law: Gary Dewayne and Lacee Jo Touchstone of Franklinton

He was blessed to have grandchildren later in life: Denver Johnston, Kenleigh Clark, Avery Clark, Addaleigh Smith; Brother and Sister in law: Johnny and Pat Touchstone of Odessa, TX; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Becky and Bill Sanders of Youngsville, LA, Kathy Atwood of Owasso, OK; Mother in law: Virginia Miller; Brother in law: Edward “Ted” Seals; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

He was also preceded in death by his son Sean Hunter Touchstone, father in law Donald Miller, and sister in law Sherry Seals.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Thursday September 21st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Eric Williams and Rev. Greg Touchstone officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
