Albert "Butch" Toney Rester

March 28, 1944 - September 12, 2023

Mr. Albert “Butch” Toney Rester, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, was received by the Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the age of 79. Butch was born on March 28, 1944, to John Harvey and Viola Rester. He served the city of Bogalusa for over fifty years as the Plumbing Supervisor.

Butch was an extraordinary man who lived an exemplary life, he was loved by everyone who knew him. He was an avid fisherman who spent his days running trout lines on the Pearl River and exploring it. He loved to spend time with his family, he loved the Lord.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, Wilda Rester; sister, Johnnie Keaton; his three daughters, Viola Rester, Vanessa (Rick) Gill, and LeManda “Mandy” (P.J.) Magee; nephews, Jon and Aaron Keaton; ten grandchildren, Selena Rester, Sabrina Rester-Hughes, Thomas “T.J.” Ravens, Eric Brown, Vivian “Alex” Brown, Lacie Gill, Tiffany Gill, Bradley Gill, Rosalie Magee, and Jaxon Magee; along with four great grandchildren.

Butch was preceded in death by his father, John Harvey and his Mother Viola Rester.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Poole Ritchie Funeral home in Bogalusa, LA beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the service time at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Wesley Quave and Rev. Jeremy Newman officiating the service. Interment to follow at the Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA.
