As if the fires wasn't bad enough for Washington Parish, a water tanker fire truck with a tank full of diesel and 3,000 gallons of water was stolen yesterday (August 12, 2023) from the District 1 Fire Station on Hwy 25 south.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office reports that the truck was taken around 3:00 PM. The truck made a stop at East Fork Grocery in Tangipahoa at 5:55 PM. A white male (see the photo) left the truck, tried to get into the store attendant’s vehicle but was stopped by the attendant. The male returned to the truck and headed west on Hwy 1054 towards Hwy 51. At 9:30 PM, Osyka Police Department found the abandoned truck still running near Dollar General.
The suspect is a white male with blonde hair and a mustache. He has tattoos on his arms and was last seen with no shirt and khaki colored shorts.
If you have any information, contact the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-839-3434.
Let's catch the suspect!
