Billie Crain Stafford

March 30, 1934 - August 2, 2023

Billie Crain Stafford, age 89 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday morning August 2, 2023 at her home. She was born in Franklinton on March 30, 1934 later graduating from Franklinton High School. Billie began working as a bookkeeper for Burris Brothers and later for many years was the receptionist/secretary at Stafford Clinic owned by Dr. John and Dr. Hollis Stafford. She was known as “Miss Billie” and always had an invaluable sweet sucker for the fearful children. After retiring, she served as the tour coordinator for the senior group “The Merry Hearts” at First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime active member and also in the Senior Singers choir. The Merry Hearts traveled to numerous destinations making precious memories along the way. Billie was an avid LSU Tigers fan and loved watching baseball, especially the games played by her beloved grandsons Bill and Jonathan.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Beth and Wayne Stafford; Grandsons and a Spouse: William “Bill” Knight, IV, Jonathan and Linda Knight; Great-granddaughters: Olivia and Bethany Knight; Sister and Brother in law: Jane and Billy Wayne Rester; Also step-children and their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis A. Stafford, Jr., parents Pope and Olivia Crain, sister Edith C. McElveen, brother Robert L. Crain and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday August 6th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Frederick Brumfield, Rev. Joey Miller and grandson Jonathan Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
