On Monday (August 28, 2023), Bogalusa Police Department Detectives arrested 18 year-old, Chaston Dyson, for his involvement in the August 19, 2023 death of Tajdryn Forbes. Dyson was booked on the charges of Second Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder (2 counts), Illegal Use of Dangerous Weapons, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
BPD reports that this is still an ongoing investigation and additional arrests are expected.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, just after 1:30 am, BPD Officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of Florence Avenue. Information was also received that there was a victim associated with the shootings. On arrival, Officers discovered a young male laying in the roadway, with severe injuries. The victim was identified as 19 year-old Tajdryn Forbes, who succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives processed the scene and located over 50 casings of multiple calibers.
