Bogalusa Police Arrest Four for Shooting

The Bogalusa Police Department reports that on Tuesday (August 1, 2023), just before midnight, BPD Officers responded to a report of shots being fired at the Edgewood Apartments and found three juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid, and the juveniles were transferred to medical facilities to be treated for their non-life threatening wounds.

As Officers and Detectives were processing the scene and gathering investigative details, BPD Officers responded to another report of shots being fired near the 1600 Block of Avenue G. As Officers were responding, details of the suspect vehicle was relayed, identifying it as a white colored GMC pickup truck. Moments later, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies observed the described vehicle, and upon attempting to conduct a traffic stop, a vehicle pursuit ensued. Deputies and Officers pursued the suspect vehicle throughout the southern portion of the Parish, with the pursuit ultimately ending in St. Tammany Parish.

Four were arrested and charged with an assortment of felonies in connection to the Avenue G shooting. Those arrested included 18 year-old Erin Zeno (the driver), 19 year-old Daylon Jackson (a passenger), 18 year-old Sincere Gatlin (a passenger), and a 17 year old juvenile.  Zeno, Jackson, and Gatlin were transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail, awaiting their transfer to the Bogalusa Police Department. The 17 year old juvenile was transported to the Florida Parish Dention Center.

The Bogalusa Police Department would like to thank the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office for their assistance in apprehending these individuals.

This is an ongoing investigation, and additional arrests are expected in the very near future. More details will be released at a later time.

Earlier today, Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Z. Truong reported on a shooting in a video (see below). He reported that the retaliatory shooting was near his home and that he was forced to seek safety on the floor with his one year-old.
