Daniel Scott Henley

April 27, 1964 - July 29, 2023

Daniel Scott Henley, age 59 and a resident of Pine, passed away Saturday night July 29, 2023 at his home. Danny was a roofer for over 20 years, working with Terry Melancon Roofing for a long time. He has been the donut baker at Pine Cash Grocery and Robbie Michel for the last 15 years. Danny had the fun nickname “Rags” to his family and friends. He enjoyed playing his guitar and being a singer/songwriter, having done many songs that he shared with those close to him. Danny also enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years. He most of all loved spending time with his family and hanging out visiting with his friends.

Survived by: Wife: Cherie Henley of Pine; Sons: Grayson Scott Henley of Franklinton, Kenneth Doby of Amite; Grandchildren: Brayden Scott Henley, Scott Benson Henley, Saige Doby, Autumn Doby, Ayden Doby; Sister: Theresa Johnson; Also numerous aunts, uncles, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bobby Henley and Marilyn Schilling Henley, step-daughter Theresa Doby, father in law and mother in law Frank and Ethel Porrovecchio.

Danny will be laid to rest following a private ceremony in the Pine First Baptist Church Cemetery.
