Marcus Robert Stewart

Marcus Robert Stewart, age 62 and a resident of the Lawrence Creek Community, passed away Wednesday afternoon July 5, 2023 at his home. Mark was a 1979 graduate of Bowling Green School and the owner/operator of Stewart Pallet for over 20 years. He was a longtime active member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he was song leader at worship services for over 35 years and a member of the men’s singing group “The Lawrence Creek Boys”. Mark also taught Sunday School classes to children, youth and young adults so he was loved by all of the youngest church members and he loved them back. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, something he was very proud of, and he loved his entire church family. Mark enjoyed attending church Camp Meetings and visiting nearby churches during revivals and other events. He also enjoyed watching basketball, baseball and other sports on TV and spending time with his family and young grandchildren.
Survived by: Wife of 39 years: Margaret Harrell Stewart; Sons and Daughters in law: Phillip Zachary Stewart and Tricia Annwood Stewart, Vincent Reid Stewart and Heather Hall Stewart; Grandchildren: Grace Maeanna Stewart, Graham Thomas Stewart; Brother and Sister in law: Stephen Otto Stewart and Tammy Jenkins Stewart; Mother in law: Mildred Foxworth Harrell; Brother in law: Michael Harrell; Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family and many dear friends
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Alton Stewart and Eva Pearl Campbell Stewart, a young brother Phillip Alton Stewart, father in law Thomas Harrell, sister in law Mary Harrell and his grandparents.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday July 8th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are his brothers in Christ, The Lawrence Creek Boys.
