The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance in locating 46 year-old Sharon Muse-Pitts Jones of Amite.
Chief Jimmy Travis says Jones is wanted for multiple financial crimes. According to investigators, Jones was a paid caretaker of an elderly couple in Ponchatoula and was contracted to provide the couple assistance with household chores and shopping needs. She was provided a debit card with instructions to purchase only the necessary items contained on the couple's shopping list. Upon examining the couple's bank statements, it was discovered Jones completed a series of unauthorized purchases and ATM withdrawals totaling over $11,000 between February 10, 2023 and April 5, 2023.
An arrest warrant for Jones has been issued for Access Device Fraud and Identity Theft. Jones also has a Failure to Appear warrant from previous charges of Issuing Worthless Checks.
