Two Armed Robberies in Bogalusa Reported

The Bogalusa Police Department has reported on two recent armed robberies. 

1) Armed Robbery at Juneteeth Celebration in Cassidy Park. On Saturday (June 10, 2023), Officers working the Juneteenth Celebration in Cassidy Park, investigated a reported Armed Robbery that occurred in the park.  A 16 year old juvenile male was near the Bogalusa Creek, when he was held up at gunpoint by two other juveniles, a 14 year old male and a 15 year old male.  Officers on the scene, investigated the alleged armed robbery, and subsequently arrested the two juvenile males. Both were charged with Armed Robbery and remanded to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center pending arraignment in Juvenile Court.  The property of the victim was recovered and returned to the victim.

2) 65 Year-Old Bicyclist Robbed at Gunpoint in Bogalusa. On Sunday (June 11, 2023), Officers investigated a reported Armed Robbery that occurred on S. Dauphine Street, near Long Avenue, in Bogalusa.  During the investigation, it was determined that a 65 year-old male bicyclist in the area was approached by a black car. Two subjects exited the vehicle and held him up at gunpoint demanding his money. The victim complied and gave them his money, and the suspects fled in the black vehicle.  During the investigation the two robbers were identified and apprehended. Arrested were 18 year-old Dequincy Youngblood of Bogalusa, and a 17 year-old juvenile male, also from Bogalusa. Both were charged with Armed Robbery and Youngblood was also charged with Illegal Possession of a Firearm. Youngblood was booked into the City Jail awaiting a transfer to the parish jail pending a bond hearing.  The 17 year-old juvenile was charged and remanded to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center pending arraignment in Juvenile Court.  Three firearms were recovered in a search subsequent to the arrest of the two armed robbers.
