Slidell Police are searching for 25 year-old Jamiel Naquon Miller, wanted for the shooting and killing of 26 year-old Tayante Williamson Sunday (June 25, 2023) evening.
Shortly after 10:30 PM on Sunday, Slidell Police responded to the 1400 block of Gause Boulevard after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers located the victim, suffering from a gunshot wound. Williamson was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. It is believed that Miller and Williamson were having an argument, which reportedly resulted in Miller pulling out a gun and shooting Williamson in the chest.
After the shooting, Miller fled the area on foot. An intensive manhunt ensued but yielded negative results. Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Jamiel Miller for one count of Second Degree Murder.
Miller is considered armed and dangerous.
