Sheriff Smith Commends Narcotics Division After Productive Week

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith wants to applaud the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Division after a very successful week last week which resulted in numerous arrests and a large amount of illegal drugs and firearms being taken off the street.

1) On Wednesday (June 7, 2023), detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Boyd Davis Road in Talisheek as part of an ongoing investigation. That search led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 5.6 grams of methamphetamine, an assortment of drug paraphernalia, 13 morphine sulfate pills and five unlawfully possessed firearms, and the arrests of four individuals: 40 year-old Dustin Talley, 29 year-old Tyler Rendon, 23 year-old Hailey Carter, and 29 year-old Morgan Stratton.

2) On Thursday (June 8, 2023), detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division concluded a two-month-long investigation with the execution of a search warrant at a residence on E. Suncrest Loop in Slidell. That search led to the discovery and seizure of four more unlawfully possessed firearms, approximately 2329 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 2255 grams of suspected THC cartridge pens, approximately 58 grams of suspected THC resin, approximately 17 grams of suspected THC capsules, approximately 1977 grams of suspected THC wax, approximately 2656 grams of suspected THC edibles and an assortment of drug paraphernalia associated with the packaging and sale of marijuana. Cash totaling $146,850, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, and a jet ski and a dirt bike believed to have been purchased with proceeds from the sale of illegal narcotics, were also seized. In addition, it was learned a 1-year-old child was known to live at and to be present while narcotics were being sold at the E. Suncrest Loop residence.  As a result of these discoveries, 23 year-old Blake Jackson and 23 year-old and Haley Richmond were arrested.

3) Also on Thursday (June 8, 2023), detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into 26 year-old Tracy Strickland, who was believed to be distributing illegal drugs. The investigation led to the arrest of Strickland and the execution of a search warrant at Strickland’s residence on Joseph Street in Slidell. During that search, detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division seized 25 alprazolam tablets, 233 possibly counterfeit oxycodone tablets believed to contain fentanyl, a half ounce of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms and an unlawfully possessed handgun.

“Thanks to some really great police work, several known drug dealers are behind bars and a lot of illegal narcotics and guns are off the streets,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “We do not tolerate dealing drugs in our community, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has the best of the best out there investigating and arresting those responsible for selling drugs in our neighborhoods.”

Sheriff Smith urges anyone with information about individuals dealing illegal narcotics in our parish, to submit a tip through the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office website (www.STPSO.com), by calling the narcotics tip line (1-888-GO-2-JAIL),
