Johnny A. Brown passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at his home in Bush, LA. Although a resident of St. Tammany Parish for most of his life, he was born on December 30, 1961, in New Orleans, LA to the late Malvina Guerrera and Gilbert J. Brown.

Johnny was an incredibly loving and caring person who loved his family. Johnny gave the gift of life through organ donation. He struggled throughout his life with mental illness, but had experiences and adventures few could ever imagine. He also had a sense of humor that would have you laughing for hours. Through his donation of life, he can know that he was a great superhero and will live on through others.

He is survived by seven brothers: Gilbert J Brown, Jr. (Karen), Patrick A. Brown (Stacy), Andy Brown, Gary Blackledge (Debbie), Willie Blackledge (Christy), Clois Blackledge Jr., and Paul Blackledge (Rosanna); five sisters: Stacy Brown, Joann Blackledge, Paula Ann Lemaire, Karen Mary K., and Kathy Blackledge; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several close friends and other family that loved him and will truly miss him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother: Malvina Guerrera Blackledge; his father: Gilbert J Brown, Sr; a step-father: Clois C. Blackledge, Sr.; and one brother: Norman J. Brown.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation in the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 4PM until 6PM. Interment will immediately follow visitation at Gibson Family Cemetery in Sun, LA.
