Franklinton Burglary-in-Progress Thwarted – 2 Juveniles Arrested

The Franklinton Police Department that a burglary in progress on Wednesday (June 28, 2023 shortly after midnight) resulted in the quick apprehension and arrests of two juvenile suspects. 

It all started as FPD Sergeant Trey Johnson was investigating a suspicious person incident, and Washington Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Polk was responding to assist. While en route, Deputy Polk observed a burglary in progress at Stop 1 Valero convenience store. Deputy Polk acted quickly to notify other officers with both agencies, and Sheriff’s Sergeant Phillip Varnado also responded to assist. 

Thanks to the efforts of WPSO Deputy Polk, WPSO Sergeant Varnado, FPD Sergeant Johnson, and FPD Captain of investigations Randall Penton, Sergeant Johnson was able to resolve the incident in a matter of hours.
