The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office's Chief Jimmy Travis reports the arrest of three subjects following a Wednesday (May 11, 2023) early morning attempt to burglarize a Loranger business, Rapture Firearms on Harvest Lane in Loranger.
Just after midnight, deputies responded to Rapture Firearms after the owner received security camera motion alerts on his mobile phone. According to the owner, he observed at least one person at the front door wearing a mask. Deputies responded to the scene and located three black males outside the business, along with a vehicle which was displaying a stolen license plate.
It was determined all three were also involved in a simple robbery which occurred just two days prior at the same location. In the first incident, the subjects reportedly distracted the clerk and stole two guns from the display case. At the time of their arrest, the two firearms in question have not been recovered.
Marquel Francewar (age 19 and from Tickfaw), was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Simple Robbery.
Zaiden Thompson (age 18 and from Tickfaw) was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Simple Robbery.
Johnell Hayes (age 23 and from Tickfaw, was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Simple Robbery, and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.
