Jane, also known as 'Ma Jane', was a clerk for many years at the Sun Town Hall and always had a helping hand at the Sun Skating Rink. She was a member of the Sun Methodist Church where she participated in distributing food and clothing thru the food bank. For many years, she loved to host dart and pool tournaments that always came with a home-cooked meal. During the 80's, she and husband, Bill, along with friends began to establish the "Five Lakes Bluegrass Festival". Every Memorial Day weekend the sounds of bluegrass music could be heard at the well-known Poverty Hill Pickin Parlor and Campground. This successful event provided a venue for numerous musicians from all over the world. Many folks would decide to stay on and live at the campground to call home. Ma Jane loved cooking and offering help to those in need. Most weekends you could catch her pickin her upright bass and singing her favorite bluegrass songs with anyone who had a love for music. Later in life it became difficult for Ma Jane to get around, but on Saturday night you could find her listening to Austin City Limits and old timey bluegrass on television. Ma Jane had a witty personality and generous heart that will live forever in the beautiful setting of her beloved Poverty Hill where she will be eternally missed by her family and many friends.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. On May 4, 2023, visitation will take place in funeral home chapel starting at 4PM until time of service at 6PM.
