Laura Elaine Magee Husser

December 29, 1937 - May 22, 2023

Laura Elaine Magee Husser, age 85 and a longtime resident of the Canaan Community, passed away early Monday morning May 22, 2023 at Riverside Medical Center. She was currently a resident of Good Samaritan Living Center, where she met many new friends and even connected with some old ones. Elaine was a loving wife to her husband Huey Seal Husser for over 50 years and a devoted mother to her children. She worked alongside her family on their dairy farm for many years. Elaine worked as an LPN up until starting her family and she drove a school bus for Valley Forge School. She was a homemaker who always had food cooking, ready for anyone that stopped by to visit. Elaine took an active role in membership at Fisher Methodist Church, Sunlight Baptist Church and Canaan Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and her favorite gospel hymns. She was known as Aunt Elaine to most people but she was family to all because she was always able to visit with anyone that needed a listening ear. Elaine would budget her money, making sure to have cards and cash in envelopes for her children and grandchildren.

Survived by: 2 Sons and a daughter in law: Shane Husser of Ansley, LA Clint and Jan Husser of Springfield; 2 Daughters and a son in law: Tammy Miller of Collins, MS, Chanda and Ed Rigby of Troy, AL; Grandchildren and spouses: Jason and Kristina Husser, Chelsea and Robert Barr, Hanna and David Privat-Gilman, Zachary and Marissa Husser, Ramsey Rigby, Randon Rigby, Beau Husser, Luke Husser, Beck Troutman(husband of Jessica); 6 Great grandchildren: Jonah Husser, Zephyr Husser, Carter Troutman, Mary Hannah Troutman, Rocco Barr, Dylan Barr; Beloved Niece and her spouse: Denise and Dean Fitzgerald; Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends

She was preceded in death by her husband Huey Seal Husser, granddaughter Jessica Troutman, parents Claude Magee, Sr. and Grace Bahm Magee, a sister Mary McDaniel and brothers Claude A. Magee, Jr. and William “Billy” Magee.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday May 24th in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Louis Husser and Rev. Stan Adams officiating, with special music performed by grandson Zachary Husser.
