Frederick Bradley Orman, III

February 24, 1947 - May 18, 2023

Frederick Bradley Orman III, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully Thursday May 18, 2023 at his home. Brad was born in Pueblo, Colorado on February 24, 1947 and graduated from Central High School in 1965 then later earned a psychology degree from Southern Colorado State College in 1969 before moving to Franklinton. He was the co-founder and owner/operator of Orman & Bickham Real Estate in Franklinton for over 40 years. Brad was a licensed real estate broker and appraiser and also a longtime member of the Northshore Area Board of Realtors. Through his business, Brad was a member of the Franklinton Chamber of Commerce, serving as President for a time and a longtime team sponsor with Dixie Youth Baseball. He was also a member and past President of the Franklinton Lion’s Club and the Mile Branch Settlement Committee.

Brad was always civic minded, as he was elected to serve two terms as an Alderman for the Town of Franklinton and he served on the Washington Parish Democratic Executive Committee. He also had a love of the outdoors. Brad obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and was an accomplished competitive sharpshooter. He enjoyed fishing most of all and was a member and served as Director of the Louisiana Bass Tournament Association. Brad’s hobbies included talking politics with his friends, taking care of his pet dogs and especially spending time with his family.

Survived by: Wife of 47 years: Kaye Ard Orman of Franklinton; Daughter and Son in law: Susannah “Susie” and Ford Stinson of Bossier City, LA; Son and Daughter in law: Blake and Breanne Orman of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Michael Stinson, Addilyn Orman, Miles Orman; Sisters and a Brother in law: Cathy and George Castille, Mary Nell Barringer; Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Von Adams, Gayle Collier, Grady and Frances Ard, Lurline Ard, Elizabeth Ard; Also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Betty Orman, sister and brother in law Elizabeth and Bruce Bickham, father in law and mother in law Vernie and Ruby Ard, brothers in law A.J. Ard, Heyward Ard and other family members.

A memorial service for his family and friends will be planned in the near future.
