Marie Catherine Singley Seals

June 28, 1924 - May 1, 2023

Marie Catherine Singley Seals, age 98 and a resident of the Dexter Community, passed away early Monday morning May 1, 2023 at Billdora Senior Care in Tylertown. She was a former longtime resident of Washington Parish and member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church that recently was a member of Centreville Missionary Baptist Church for several years. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flower beds. Marie was an excellent cook, especially any type of wild game and she made delicious chicken ‘n dumplins. She was always very thoughtful about the well-being of others, caring more for their needs than her own. Marie loved to spend time with her family and she adored her grandchildren.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Joyce and Jimmy Stewart of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Misty Stewart, Shannon and Misty Ellis, Shermit and Jennifer Ellis; Great-grandchildren: Tre’ Gholar, Nicholas Gholar and Bre, Carlos Dillon, Anden Ellis; Great-granddaughter: Aubree; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law Doris Seals Ellis and Roy Ellis, husband of 60 years Clifford N. Seals, parents Billy Singley and Myrtis Hines Singley, sister and brother in law Verlie and Odine Penton, brothers and sisters in law Carlos and Bobby Jean Singley, Delos and Myrtle Lee Singley.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday May 4th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Jason Skipper and Eld. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery.
