Two Arrested for Thefts at Percy Quinn State Park

On April 5, 2023, the Pike County Sheriff's Office responded to Percy Quinn State Park in reference to stolen property and trespassing.  Park employees reported the thefts occurred at the Marina, where watercraft is kept overnight.  Video surveillance captured a white male and a white female removing fishing poles, watersports equipment and a State of Mississippi gas container.

On April 10, 2023, the PCSO arrested two suspects in the thefts at Percy Quinn State Park. Melvin “David” Brewer, age 50 and of McComb, MS, and Annia Bowman, age 37 and of Cleveland, TN, were identified thanks to Crime Stopper tips. Detectives and deputies located Brewer and Bowman on Frank Oakes Road at the former Morgan Building.  Brewer and Bowman were living in one of the buildings at the location.  Deputies were able to recover the stolen property from Percy Quinn and other stolen items.  During the investigation, Detectives learned that the two were involved in many thefts and burglaries in Pike County. Both were arrested, taken to the Pike County Jail and booked for Burglary of a Dwelling, Petit Larceny and Trespassing.  Bond was set at $50,000.00.  The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could be filed.

Percy Quinn State Park has been plagued by individuals coming into the park after hours stealing from visitors and the park.  The Pike County Sheriff's Office warns those that commit these crimes, will be actively pursued and arrested.  In addition to fines and jail time, suspects can be banned from Percy Quinn State Park and other state parks by the court.

***All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law***
