The Pike County MS Sheriff's Office reports the arrest last week of Faith Amore Newsome, age 20 and of Monticello, MS, on the charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct. Bond was set at $50,000.00.
On March 30, 2023, deputies responded to an incident of an individual being threatened. During the investigation of the complaint, Newsome became combative and resisted arrest by a deputy. Newsome struck the deputy in the face and threatened to kill the her. The deputy was treated for her injuries at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
