Alice McCain Brooks

December 3, 1938 - April 25, 2023

Alice McCain Brooks, age 84 and  a resident of Pine, passed away early Tuesday morning April 25, 2023 at her home. She was a longtime member of Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church that enjoyed completing puzzles and sewing, which she did most of her life. Alice liked to watch old Western movies and cook for her family. She was an excellent cook with holiday dressing, fried chicken and gumbo being some of the family favorites. Alice was always a loving mother and grandmother.

Survived by: 3 Sons and a Daughter in law: Wilton McCain, Allen McCain both of Pine, Jerry and Jeannie McCain of Franklinton; Daughter: Patricia McCain and Patrick Temples of Pine; Grandchildren and Spouses: Jennifer McCain, Shelly McCain and fiancé Lucas Luper, Dale and Tonya McCain, Katlyn and Daniel Miley, Austin and Carrie Temples; 10 Great-grandchildren; 4 Great-great-grandchildren; 3 Sisters: Earnestine Luper, Nell Luper, Jean LaBorde; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by husbands Willie J. McCain, Hollis Brooks, grandson Dustin Allen McCain, mother Mary Alice Overstreet, father Oscar Modes Rogers, sisters Shirley Porterfield, Aline Murphy, brothers Harold Rogers, Paul Rogers and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday April 28th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Eld. Edward Penton and Eld. Adam Luper officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
