Over $30,000 in Cash, Guns, and Car Seized in Slidell

The Slidell Police Department reported yesterday (March 15, 2023) that, in the early morning hours on Thursday, March 9, 2023, the SPD received reports of a suspicious vehicle being improperly parked at the Super 8 Motel on Old Spanish Trail. When officers arrived at the motel, they noticed a male subject in the drivers seat of the improperly parked vehicle. Officers discovered the male was in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine, a large amount of U.S. currency, and two  firearms, one of which had an obliterated serial number.

Further investigation determined that the male suspect was a convicted felon and was renting a room at the motel with another subject.

The SPD Narcotics Division was requested to the scene. Search warrants were executed on the hotel room and a total of three vehicles and the following was recovered and seized: nearly $30,000 in United States Currency, 1 ounce of Cocaine, 2 ½ ounces of Meth, 15 grams of Marijuana, 1 rifle, 1 Tec-9 semi-automatic firearm with an obliterated serial number, an assortment of drug paraphernalia, 1 2022 Honda Accord, and 1 currency counter. Both suspects were subsequently arrested and charged accordingly.
