Jamie Lee Hawthorne

Jamie was born in Independence, LA, to the late Elijah Carter and Christine Hawthorne on February 3, 1976. Jamie departed this life to have eternal rest with our Lord and Savior
Jamie attended Amite High School; he was employed at Kentwood Brick and later at Kennedy Signs in Amite, LA. Jamie was a hardworking man. Jamie joined Quinn Chapel AME Church under the leadership of Pastor Troy Grimes.
Jamie was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to anyone he came in contact with. Jamie has a heart as big as this world, he made you smile, cry and laugh, but most of all, Jamie was loved by everyone around him.
Jamie leaves to cherish in their hearts his children, Mandrea, Tori, and Tamara; four sisters, Terry(Rickey) Hayes (Osyka, MS); Cynthia Coleman (Friend Kip) (Kentwood, LA); Reba Hawthorne and Diana Hawthorne of Baton Rouge, LA, four brothers, Elijah Hawthorne, Paul Hawthorne, Kentrell Hawthorne of (Kentwood, LA), and Eric Hawthorne of (Hammond, LA), aunts, Martina Addison of (Kentwood, LA), Alica Carter of (Kentwood, LA), Clotile Jones of (Tangipahoa, LA), Gene Carter (Kentwood, LA), uncle, James (Bunnie) Carter (Amite, LA), brother in law, Tony Martin (Tangipahoa, LA), a devoted friend Belinda Potter of Tangipahoa, LA, and Mr. Ricky Coleman who call dad. And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jamie was preceded in death by his parents; Elijah Carter and Christine Hawthorne, sisters; Jessie Hawthorne, Christine Hawthorne, Maryann Hawthorne, and Carolyn Hawthorne, grandfather; Elijah Carter, Sr, two aunts, Celestine Hawthorne and Essie Mae Hawthorne, two uncles, Jimmy Hawthorne and Robert Carter.
Services will be at Cross Memorial Funeral Home in Amite, Louisiana on March 25, 2023 beginning at 1:00 PM.
