Ann Crain Harris

August 4, 1946 - March 16, 2023

Ann Crain Harris, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday evening March 16, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born in Bogalusa on August 4, 1946 to the late Lavon Crain and Nina DeWolf Crain of the Stateline Community. Ann loved horses and was an avid horseback rider. She and her family had trail horses for over 25 years and rode in areas throughout Louisiana and the southeastern United States, often camping out and experiencing God’s beautiful nature on horseback. She was an excellent cook, especially her delicious gumbo, and enjoyed hosting friends and family for meals and gatherings. Ann also loved to garden and read novels.

Survived by: Husband of 49 years: John T. Harris, Jr.; 3 Sons and a Daughter in law: Paul Harris and Laura Canfield, Terry and Jennifer Harris, Robert Harris; Grandchildren and Spouses: Phelan and Daniel Hause, Kiersten Harris and Malachi Stogner, Jordan and Bethanie Galloway; Great-grandson: Rhett Galloway; Brothers and Sisters in law: Michael L. and Emma Crain, Gregory D. Crain, Dr. John L. Crain and Chris Jones; Brother in law and Sister in law: Danny and Melinda Harris; Special Friends: Martha McNeal and Kim Lewis; Also numerous beloved nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, father in law and mother in law John T. and Natalie Harris, brother in law Phillip G. Harris.

A graveside funeral service will be held in Ellis Cemetery at 11:00 am Monday March 20th with Bro. Denver Miller, Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers are her sons Paul Harris, Terry Harris, Roberts Harris, grandson Jordan Galloway, nephews Daniel Harris, Justin Lewis

Honorary Pallbearers are brother in law Danny Harris and grandson Malachi Stogner

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the critical care unit of St. Tammany Hospital for the loving support they provided during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Washington Parish Animal Shelter (23046 YACC Road, Franklinton, LA 70438) or it can be reached on the Washington Parish Animal Shelter Facebook page.
