Otha Michael "Mike" Williams

Otha Michael "Mike" Williams, 57 years old of 52070 West Stateline Rd, Franklinton LA passed away on March 2, 2023.
Mike was born on April 13, 1965, to Otha "Junior" Williams, Jr. and Evelyn Williams Hall in Bogalusa, LA. Mike was the first and only son of his parents, a position he cherished as well as being the only brother to five sisters. Mike attended Pine High School and went on the work for Pride Offshore, eventually becoming a Crane Operator and working in Mexico. After retirement Mike enjoyed working with Mr. Ray Duncan on his farmland. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing. He was a champion Beagle breeder with too many trophies and ribbons to count. He loved deer hunting and was a member of various Deer Hunting Clubs, loved to run those rabbits too. His favorite hunting was Turkey season in Homochitto National Park. When not hunting you could find Mike on the Pearl River running lines. As much as he loved the outdoors it was the camaraderie and friendship that he had enjoyed the most. Mike also enjoyed family get together and spending time with the gang at Big's. Mike's life was filled with trials as well, which he handled with dignity, faith and a deep belief in God our Savior. He was a member of New Stateline Baptist Church.
Mike is survived by a daughter, Hope Williams of Chatsworth, GA. He was recently brought great joy by learning of his daughter, Hilary (Vincent) Colavito of Cheshire, CT. He is also survived by sisters, Karen (Joe) Wheat of Bogalusa, LA, Joy (Jimmy) Martin of Thomas, LA, Rhonda (Pat) Beall, of Pine, LA, Victoria (Jody) Cox, of Pine, LA and Jessica (Michael) Fitzgerald of Magnolia, MS.; and two grandchildren, Noah Cantor and Bella Mia Colavito. Mike had waited so long for children and his nieces and nephews were like his own, especially "them boys", Glen (Bethany) Seal, Lee (Evelyn) Applewhite, Brittany (Blake) Lam, Liza (Josh) Forbes, Dylon Martin, Cody (Emily) Beall, Stony Beall, Eron Williams, and Levi Cox and a host of great nephews, and nieces, aunts, and uncles. Mike also had loyal friends whose friendship he truly valued, Tony Dale Gerald, Gary Hyatt, Mr. Ray Duncan and Danny Jones along with many others.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Otha Williams, Jr. and Evelyn Williams Hall, paternal grandparents, Otha and Audrey Williams, maternal grandparents, Vera Mae Capers and Kjell Lyngstad. and niece, Dancy Jo Cox.
A memorial service will be held at his home on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 4:00 pm, family and friends are invited to attend. Bring a lawn chair and we will celebrate his life. Mike gave very specific instructions when his final day came, he wanted his resting place to be at Homochitto National Forrest, and stated "Lee will know the spot, put a sign saying: Please leave me alone, I'm listening for a Turkey."
