Bogalusa Man Jailed After 100 MPH Pursuit

Today (March 14, 2023),  Jason Warner, age 47 and a resident of Twin Pines Road in Bogalusa, led a Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy on a high speed pursuit on Highways 62 and 10. The pursuit began when the officer noticed Warner speeding on Highway 62. As the officer pursued Warner, he turned east on Highway 10 and accelerated to speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour.

During the pursuit, Warner drove on the shoulder of the road as he passed two cars and then a log truck. He refused to yield to the deputy until he turned onto YACC Road, at which point he exited his vehicle. The officer took him in custody and transported him to the Washington Parish Jail where he was booked on charges of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, speeding, driving on the shoulder of the highway, passing in no passing zones and other traffic offenses.

Warner has one other recorded arrest in Washington Parish. In 2007, he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer and traffic offenses.

“It is inconceivable to the average citizen for anyone to drive on a public highway in such a careless manner,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “The safety of every other motorist was in jeopardy due to Warner’s reckless behavior. I’m pleased that our deputy was able to remove him from the road. Perhaps a little time in the jail will benefit him.”
