71 Year-Old Washington Parish Man Accused of Sex Crimes Against Child

Robert W. Crain, age 71 and a resident of Mart Stewart Road south of Bogalusa, was arrested Wednesday (March 29, 2023) for sex crimes against a child. Crain was booked into the Washington Parish Jail on charges of first degree rape of a victim under thirteen years old and pornography involving juveniles. His bond was set at $250,000.

Crain’s arrest was the result of an investigation by Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives who received a referral from the Louisiana Department of Child Services. While conducting a search warrant at Crain’s residence, detectives reportedly discovered a number of illicit items directly related to the crimes for which he was arrested.

“Our detectives did an outstanding job with this very sensitive matter,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “They are a hard-working and dedicated group of officers who sometimes have to deal with difficult matters which are abhorrent to the sensibilities and morals of decent, law-abiding citizens. Our detectives don’t shy away from delicate or complicated issues and tackle them head on.
