Lawrence Henry Oliver

October 22, 1936 - February 8, 2023

Lawrence Henry Oliver, age 86 and a resident of the Enon Community, died Wednesday morning February 8, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born in San Francisco, California on October 22, 1936 and later served his country as a tank driver in the United States Army. Lawrence was a longtime active member of Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing and spoiling his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The holidays were very important to him and the memories of special Christmas presents for his family and Easter egg hunts for the adults and children will last forever.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Don and Robin Oliver of Bogalusa, Doug and Tami Oliver of Alexandria, LA; 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Joyce and Jim Weaver, Ruth and Rick Naquin all of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Andrew Oliver, Alicia Oliver, Lauren and Jason Covey, Ashley and Dan Ryan, Sharon Nicole Oliver, Kaitlyn and Wade Wells, Kenneth Phrampus, Michael Weaver, Melody and Bo Galloway, Kyle and Trista Weaver, Tabitha and Damon Starnes, Michael Frere, Sarah and Joe Martin; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; Brother and Sister in law: Albert and Sandy Oliver of Bogalusa; Brother in law: Garland Provost of Franklinton; Sister in law: Judy Wheat of Texas; Also several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Hershe Lee Provost Oliver, parents Albert Arthur Oliver and Ruby McCollum Oliver, a brother Donald, sisters Marilyn and Catherine.

Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church (18018 Lee Road, Franklinton, LA 70438) on Saturday February 11th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Bryan Bates and Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church at the address above.
