Obituary

Anna Odom McElveen

June 12, 1955 - February 24, 2023

Anna Odom McElveen, age 67 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away Friday morning February 24, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She worked for many years as a home-daycare monitor for the state of Louisiana. Anna attended Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church and loved to travel. She took vacations to Australia, London, England, Las Vegas, California and many favorite areas in the Southeastern United States. Anna enjoyed cooking for her family and made delicious sweet potato pie and Christmas candy. She liked to watch N.C.I.S. and other criminal-drama TV shows with her granddaughter. Anna was a great “storyteller” and she had a kind and generous heart, always willing to help others in need. She had a special place in her heart for her pet dog “Josie”.

Survived by: Husband of 45 years: Truman McElveen of Mt. Hermon; Daughter and Spouse: Sabrina and Amber Rayborn of Hammond; Son: Richard McElveen of Pascagoula, MS; Grandchildren: Zachary Seals, Jordyn Seals, Raegan McElveen; Brothers and Sisters in law: Paul and Betty Odom, Calvin and Kathy Odom; Special great-nephew: Brandon McElveen who has been very helpful to Truman; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law and cousins

She was preceded in death by her parents Eligah Odom and Viola Comeaux Odom, sisters Theresa Reed, Sharron Gorju, Mary Lee Morgan, father in law and mother in law Wilmer and Eunice McElveen and other family members.

Visitation will be at Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church (37300 Sunny Hill Road, Mt. Hermon, LA 70450) on Wednesday March 1st from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 12:00 pm on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Randall Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to either Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church at the address above, Acts 2 Ministries (10247 Hwy. 90, Beaumont, TX 77713) or to the family directly.

Pallbearers are nephews Travis Paul Odom, Joe Odom, Willie Odom, Danny Odom, Phillip Odom, Ayliss Odom, Steve Odom, Benny Odom
