Marvin Esley Magee

February 14, 1939 - February 5, 2023

Marvin Esley Magee, age 83 and a resident of Franklinton, died early Sunday, February 5, 2023 at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, Louisiana.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklinton. He was a sales manager at Miller Ford Company for many years. He retired from Hibernia Bank. He was the entrepreneur of M & T “Empty” Campground. He enjoyed old vehicles and tractors. He served as past president of the Franklinton Lions Club and he was a member of Franklinton Lodge 101 F&AM.

Survived by: Son: Todd Magee and fiancé’ Melissa Cox of Franklinton; 2 Grandchildren: Lance Magee of Wilmington, NC, Emily Magee and fiancé Conner Allen of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Special Friend: Gilda McCain of Franklinton; Nieces and Nephews: June and George Stevens Judy Ashe and Albert Young, Bonnie Dier, Sandy Berry and Kay Cawiezel, Terry and Dwanna Magee, Ted and Janet Magee, Mike Varnado, Rusty and Shelly Varnado; Great nephew: Tyler Magee; Numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents T C and Bonnie Lee Hunt, his siblings Lois Corkern, Christine Maples, T A Magee, and Mary Dier, mother of his son Carolyn “Kakie” Sumrall, nephew Harold Corkern, niece Lori Arguelles and a sister in law Peggy Varnado, nephew Harold Varnado, nieces Tammy Ingram, Tonja Seal and Debbie Varnado

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10 am until 2 pm. A memorial service will be held at the church at 2:00 pm with Dr. Cody Warren and Rev. Joey Miller officiating.
