Gayle Branch Cooper

November 8, 1944 - February 3, 2023

Gayle Branch Cooper, age 78 and  a resident of Pine, passed away Friday February 3, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She worked as a bookkeeper at Washington Bank in Franklinton for over 10 years and for several years as an auditor for the Washington Parish School Board. In 1988 when her husband accepted God’s call to ministry, they began a 30 year service to the Lord. Together they served at many churches in Louisiana and Mississippi and created an online and DVD ministry that helped to spread the Word throughout the world. Gayle loved to play the piano and sing at countless church services over the years. She was a longtime member of Forest Haven Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, making numerous blankets and quilts, and also did beautiful needle-point. Gayle enjoyed going antique shopping and had several different collections of the unique items she found. She always loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Karen and Kyle Pittman of Tylertown, MS; 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Darron and Jane Cooper, Darryl and Kim Cooper, Clint and Carmen Cooper all of Pine; Granddaughter and Spouse: Brittney and Shea Sumrall; 6 Grandsons and Spouses: Brett and Shayla Cooper, Brad and Emily Cooper, Cody and Ameliah Cooper, Hunter and Alyssa Cooper, Trey and Bethany Cooper, Chase Cooper; Great-grandchildren: Slade Sumrall, AnnaRae Cooper, Laina Cooper, Jenna Cooper, Bailey Cooper, Kip Clyde Cooper, Addison Magee Pierce, And an expected great-grandson; Sister: Sandra Strahan; Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Faye Branch, Willie and Jeanette Cooper, Vondell Pierce; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Eld. Clyde Everett Cooper, grandson Drew Pierce, son in law Earnie Pierce, parents Robert Branch and Chinesey McKenzie Branch, an infant brother Michael Wayne Branch, brother Jimmy Branch, brother and sister in law Pat and Cathy Branch, father in law and mother in law Clyde C. Cooper and Ruth Mae Cooper Thomas, brothers in law Walter Strahan, Jim Pierce, sister in law and brother in law Marcel and Eld. J.W. Graves.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday February 5th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Eld. Glynn Erwin, Eld. Brad Cooper and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas/Forest Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her 6 grandsons

Her only granddaughter Brittney will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
