Obituary

Renita Ann Ball

July 11, 1961 - January 31, 2023

"When the Book of Life is open and the roll call has been read, I know that Jesus will be there to read my name."

Renita Cook Ball was born, July 11, 1961 in Bogalusa Louisiana to Lula Mae Cook and Willie Wesley Crawford. Renita sadly left us on Tuesday. January 31, 2023.

Renita attended Bogalusa City School and graduated with the Bogalusa High School Class of 1979.  She attended Southeastern Louisiana University pursuing a degree in Paralegal.

Renita was always a very happy and outgoing person.  She was very active throughout the community.  She was a member of the NAACP, Team Capable, Bogalusa Helping Hands, and many more citywide organizations.

At an early age, Renita united with the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Tom Bailey Jr. Renita was a member of the Jr. usher, BTU Sunday School as well as the general church.  Throughout Renita's life, she visited and fellowshipped with many other churches within the Bogalusa community.  She was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Renita was preceded in death by her grandparents Willie Cook, Sr, grandmother Alberta Matthews, her father Willie Wesley Crawford, her aunts, Ethel  Jackson, Deola White, Hazel Causey, Juanita Allen, and Virginia Smith.  Also her siblings; Timothy Bickham Sr., Marsha Bridges, and Johnny Cook.

Precious memories shall forever linger in the hearts of the four childrens: Laquandra (Victor II) Robinsons, Lattimore Thompson, Lawanda Ball, Lat-Shay Ball all of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Three sisters; Shelia Cook and Sheila Anders of Bogalusa, Louisiana and Williette Wallace of Laplace, Louisiana, three brothers, Willie Cory Cook of Stone Mountain, Bruce Cook of Decatur, Georgia, and John Crawford of Montgomery Alabama , eleven grandchildren, whom she loved dearly including Jacory Ball, Star Baze, Victoria Robinson, Victor Robinson III, all of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and Lula Ball of Hammond, Louisiana.  A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including three special cousins; Cassandra Bickham of Gulfport Mississippi, Darlean Myers and Sandra Robinson, both of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on February 4, 2023 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
