Edna Earl Slocum Nobles

March 19, 1933 - January 1, 2023

Edna Earl Slocum Nobles, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2023, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Nobles was born March 19, 1933, in Pine, Louisiana, and was a resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana. She was a beloved member of Terrace Missionary Baptist Church, where she worshipped for 74 years as the oldest and longest-standing member.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who was loved and cherished by all.

Mrs. Nobles is survived by her children, Arthur Nobles (Yvonne), Dinah (Dale) Pisciotta, Lydia (Ronnie) Crain, Anita (Michael) Davis, Tina Slaughter; a daughter-in-law Deb Cavendish; her grandchildren, Terry (Jennifer) Nobles, Kerry (Myra) Nobles, Amanda (Billy) Blanke, Felicia (Chris) Workman, Michael L. Davis (Kellie), Stacey Seal, Leah (Stacey) Baum, Amie Fairley (Jensen Crain), Rebecca (Jonathan) Whatley, Cody (Ashley) Nobles, Kristina (Lee) Deering, Haley Nobles, Matthew Crain, Brian Slaughter; 30 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Demorece Hollingsworth and Christine Seal, a special niece Suzanne Ingram, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, A.G. Nobles; her son, Greg Nobles; son-in-law Quincy Seal, great grandson Tate Fairley, parents James M. Slocum and Mae Freeman Slocum, 11 siblings, and lifelong best friend Ollie Faye Lott.

A visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and will continue on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until time for the services at 1:00 P.M.  with Bro. Eddie Hartfield and Bro. Billy Pierce officiating the services.  Interment to follow at Miley Cemetery.

Grandsons Terry Nobles, Kerry Nobles, Cody Nobles, Brian Slaughter, Matthew Crain, Tyron Johnson, and Dominic Whatley will serve as pallbearers. Her 17 great grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice, especially Paula Stewart and Zack Cotton, for the love and care shown to the family.
