Alborn Odis Spurlock

February 16, 1950 - December 24, 2022

Alborn Odis Spurlock was born to Odis Rayborn Spurlock and Willie Mae Blevins Spurlock in New Orleans, LA. He departed this life on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.  

Alborn attended Washington Parish School. Shortly after, he joined the Job Corp in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he received his GED and the trade in automobile mechanics, a field he was deeply passionate about.  After he completed school in Albuquerque, he moved back to Franklinton, Louisiana.  Later moved to Bogalusa, Louisiana, and was employed by the City of Bogalusa Public Works and Water Department for 15 years as a plumber.

He leaves to mourn his passing five brothers, Jerome Spurlock, Gregory Spurlock, Darrell (Annie) Spurlock, Keith (Michella) Spurlock, all of Georgia,  Ronald Spurlock of Franklinton, Louisiana; five sisters, Shirlyon (Robert) Brown, Annetta (Fredrick)Warren, both of Franklinton, Louisiana, Carolyn Spurlock of LaPlace, Louisiana, Emilia (Stephon) Fairley, of Poplarville, Mississippi, and Tangela Spurlock of Atlanta, Georgia; one loving daughter, Sabrina (Bam) Toussaint; one son, Deandre Lawson, and four granddaughters, Dinasia and Tyasia Toussaint, La’Kesheia (Aljoshua, Sr.) Tillman, Sequoia (Mike Jr.) Spink; two grandsons, Jonathan Blackburn, and Jeremy Burton; one great-granddaughter, Sanjah Blackburn, and his special life-long friend, Ms. Marie Bridges.

Alborn was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister, LaGenda Spurlock; one son, Jonnny Blackburn; one granddaughter, Nyasia Toussaint; his maternal grandmothers, Mercedes Blevins Calahan, and Mardisa Brumfield Spurlock; paternal grandparents, Joseph Blevins, and Oscar Spurlock, and several aunts/uncles and cousins. 

Drive through viewing Friday, January 6, 2023 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Antoine Graves – Officiating. Interment – Bethel Church Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
