Obituary

Loran Peters, Jr.

June 28, 1935 - December 24, 2022

Loron Peters was the 11th child born to the late Loron and Nazea Peters. He was born July 28, 1935 and reared in Angie, La., where he grew up to become a very unique adult at a very young age. He began working hauling pulpwood and later became a truck owner overseeing a crew of hardworking men. His working skills led him to become successful in many areas, such as truck owner, school bus driver and bar room manager. He was a very strong, handsome man with a great body sculpture with muscles, so this led him to be very attractive in the eyes of the ladies. He lived a very long and prosperous life being blessed by the most high God.

He was united in Holy Matrimony on December 23, 1974 to the love of his life Delores Peters. To this union, six children were born, Loron Gibson, Brenda Irvin, Cedric Gibson, Derrick Gibson, Cynthia Watson and Christopher Peters.

Loron accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mary’s Chapel Union Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.E. Franklin. Loron and Delores were faithful members of Mary’s Chapel UMC and raised all their children in the church. He was a faithful member until his health declined.

Loron leaves to mourn his devoted wife Delores Peters, children Loron Gibson, Brenda Irvin, Cedric (Shantell) Gibson, Derrick Gibson, Cynthia (Kenneth) Kennedy, Christopher (Tasche) Peters, Cassandra Lewis, Victor Peters, Sylvia (Mike) Garrett, Patricia May, Ruby Ellison, Precious Blackburn and Zeron (Libra) Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Loron and Nazea Peters; five sisters, Savannah Hatcher, Julia Burrell, Mary Jones, Laura Lewis and Martha Broome; five brothers: Jessie Peters, Emeal Peters, Willie J. Peters, Melodysee Peters and Sherman Peters; two step-children: Harold Gibson and Shelia Davis along with a host of Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other children.

Services will be on December 31, 2022 at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie, Louisiana. Visitation will from 11:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
