Obituary

Michael Douglas Redmond

June 10, 1980 - December 18, 2022

Michael Douglas Redmond, age 42 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away Sunday night December 18, 2022 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Despite the troubles he faced, he never gave up and lived his life to the fullest. Michael attended the Mt. Hermon schools and earned the nickname “Tubby”, which he carried the rest of his life. He worked in the oilfield industry for several years, most recently as a tool-pusher for Stinger Oilfield Service. Tubby loved fishing, fast cars and watching the Street Outlaws TV show. He enjoyed monster truck shows and loved his pets. Tubby was a family first person and honest to the core. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Hermon; Step-daughter: Bailea Nicole Lambert of Baton Rouge; Mother: Melda Ainsworth of Tickfaw; Brother and Sister: Cody Redmond, Alisha Crum both of Tickfaw; Beloved Nieces and Nephews: “Addy Bug” Taylor, Dray Magee, Lisa Bennett, Little Cody; Brother in law: Desmond Taylor of Baton Rouge

He was preceded in death by father in law Richard Taylor, friends Owen Tufts, Jr. and Celeste Tufts.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to all the special friends and family that helped support Tubby through all the difficult times he faced over the years, T.J. Maples, Jody Riley, Mallory Gilmore, Gretchen and Owen Tufts, Sr., Bro. John Barber, Josh Hughes, Mike “Till” Williams, Mikey Stinson, Uncle Frank and Aunt Margie.

A memorial service for his family and friends will be planned in the near future.
