Peggy Hulene Crain Bryant

April 22, 1942 - December 16, 2022

Peggy Hulene Crain Bryant, age 80 and a resident of Franklinton passed away peacefully Friday night December 16, 2022 at her home. She was a 1960 graduate of Pine High School, where she was a member of the Lady Raiders basketball team and a cheerleader. Peggy was voted Ms. P.H.S. during her senior year. She worked for a time, alongside her husband, as team truck drivers for the Department of Defense, hauling ammunition and explosives to military bases throughout the country. She also worked in the tax office and administration with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for many years. Peggy was an active member of Bogalusa First Church, who truly loved the Lord and her church family. She often served in different aspects of the Women’s Ministry including many outreach programs and preparing meals for the church and those in need. She and her husband traveled on vacation all over the United States as well as Hawaii, Alaska, Australia and several countries in Europe. Later in life, she loved taking care of her beautiful flower beds and working in her yard. Peggy was forever a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be greatly missed by those that knew her.

Survived by: Husband of 62 years: Daniel Bryant of Franklinton; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Lisa Kay Bryant of Franklinton, Toby Rachelle Doyle and Andrew Doyle of London, England; Son and Daughter in law: Bruce and Renee Bryant of Mobile, AL; Grandchildren: Jaden Bryant, Bryant Logan, Madeleine Logan, Georgia Doyle, Sophie Doyle, Luke Doyle; Sister: Sue Crain Burris of Franklinton; Brother and Sister in law: Ted and Martha Crain of Pine; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Glenda Crain of Franklinton, Elsie Crain of Bogalusa, Frances Morgan of Franklinton, Georgia Jacomine of New Orleans, Barbara Ann and Tom Pinnix of Ohio, Elizabeth and Wayne Jenkins of Covington; Also numerus nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents Esco and Oretha Crain, sisters Hazel Crain, Johnnie Lou Ard, Vivalene Branch, brothers Hulen Crain, Esco Crain, Jr., Joe Crain, father in law and mother in law George “Wash” Bryant and Noema Bryant and other family members.

Visitation will be at Bogalusa First Church (14532 Hwy. 21, Bogalusa) on Wednesday December 21st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Travis Houston and Rev. Jaden Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Ponemah Cemetery.
