Your Sheriff's Office Makes Two More Heroin Arrests

Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives made two drug arrests on Monday (October 31, 2022).

The first arrest occurred when officers encountered Tristan Adam Thomas, age 24 and a resident of Broad Street in Tylertown, Mississippi. Thomas was reported to be inside a business, then in the business parking lot east of Bogalusa, and behaving in a strange and suspicious manner. When the deputy located him, it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from the 22nd Judicial District Court in addition to a quantity of heroin concealed inside his vehicle. He was transported to the Washington Parish Jail and bond was set at $5,000.

The second arrest occurred inside the City of Bogalusa when a narcotics detective observed intentional littering on Jefferson Street. The driver of the vehicle was stopped and it was discovered his passenger, Destyn Alissa Freeman, age 27 and a resident of Cedar Road in Bogalusa, was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Freeman was arrested and transported to the Washington Parish Jail with her bond set at $40,500. Once at the jail, a corrections deputy discovered heroin and additional methamphetamine concealed on Freeman’s person. It was also learned that Freeman had outstanding warrants from the 22nd Judicial Court for contempt of court and failure to appear in court. Freeman is familiar with the inside of the Washington Parish Jail, having been incarcerated there on seven previous occasions beginning with a 2014 arrest. She has faced numerous charges over the years since, including multiple counts of possession of illegal drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, several counts of contempt of court and other charges.

“Two good drug arrests,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “If you are involved with illegal drugs, be aware that one of our officers may be observing you and will arrest you. We have zero tolerance for illegal drugs in our community and always have a place in the Washington Parish Jail reserved for you.”
