The Bogalusa Police Department announced today (November 4, 2022) the arrest of Lakendall Travon Brown, age 18 and of Baton Rouge, in connection with the murder of Jerry Smith, outside of Lumberjack stadium during a football game on October 14, 2022. Click here for a previous related story. Brown, with his attorney, turned himself in. He was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
Arrest warrants were also issued for Jerome Shaquille Wilson and Jordan Smith Jr., both for Obstruction of Justice. Anyone with information on their whereabouts can contact the Bogalusa Police Department at 985-732-3611.
The statement by the Bogalusa Police Department stated (in part), “The investigation is far from over. We are still awaiting forensic evidence from the crime lab, and more charges are possible . . . and we hope that this will bring some measure of security and calm back to our community, rocked by this senseless tragedy. We believe there may be more witnesses out there who have information that could assist in the investigation.
