Sammy Rickey Ingram

June 11, 1957 - November 10, 2022

Sammy Rickey Ingram, age 65 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday morning November 10, 2022 at his home. He was a longtime active member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Rickey was always a hard worker as the owner/operator of K&R Dairy for over 25 years before joining the United States Postal Service for the last 18 years. Rickey had a great relationship with his co-workers as he delivered mail in the Covington area, including the River Oaks subdivision, whose residents became good friends with their longtime mailman. He served on the Rodeo Committee of the Washington Parish Fair for many years and he and other friends often cooked the meals served during the fair. Rickey and others also cooked meals for his church and numerous chicken dinner fundraisers. He enjoyed planting trees around his home and on his former dairy property. Oaks, walnuts, other hardwoods and many fruit trees such as persimmon and others were planted and will continue to grow well into the future. Rickey enjoyed riding his motorcycle and often took long trips around the country with his wife. He will be remembered for his hard work, service to the public and the likeable personality that he showed to all the people he met.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Shanda Ingram Leino and Jordan Leno of Raleigh, NC; Son and Daughter in law: Jeremy and Rhonda Ingram of Husser; 6 Grandchildren: Allie Foles, Nicholas Foles, Eliana Leino, Evan Leino, Jude Ingram, Joseph Ingram; Sisters and brothers in law: JoAnne Gerald of Pine, Diane and John Mitchell of Anniston, AL; Mother in law: Betty Crankshaw of Wiggins, MS; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Darlene and Jerry Sykes, Sam Magee and Dale Pope all of Pass Christian, MS, Greg and Rhonda Magee of Saucier, MS; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, many beloved co-workers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Magee Ingram, parents Sammy Ingram and Ruth Taylor Ingram, brother in law Charles Ray Gerald, father in law Casey Crankshaw, father in law and mother in law Clyde and Bea Magee and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday November 12th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Sunday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with his son Rev. Jeremy Ingram, Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Donnie Broom officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Brain Passman, Randy Creel, Terry Brumfield, Nick Wilkinson, Ragen Knight, Devon Martin

Honorary Pallbearers are his 6 grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly.
