Irene Schilling Martin

November 27, 1933 - November 8, 2022

Irene Schilling Martin, age 88, was born on November 27, 1933 and she peacefully entered her long awaited Heavenly home on Tuesday November 8, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Irene was a devoted wife of 53 years to the late Jesse Willard Martin, loving mother of 7 and grandmother to many. Irene was a member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church. God’s beautiful creation brought her peace, especially admiring the colorful flowers and birds. Her greatest joy was taking loving care and visiting with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Survived by: 7 Children and Spouses: Bill and Mary Lou Martin, Pat Penton, Mike Martin, Ricky Martin, Randy and Cathy Martin, Gary Martin, Debbie and David Wheeler, who was very attentive and comforting to Irene; 17 Grandchildren and spouses; 34 Great-Grandchildren and spouses; 13 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Irene was also preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Emmerline Corkern Schilling, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, a grandson Daniel Brooks and great-grandson Drake Spears.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday November 10th from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Edward Penton and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks/Martin Cemetery near her home.
