Evelyn Janet Magee-Hill

April 30, 1946 - November 5, 2022

Evelyn Janet Magee-Hill, age 76, a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church and resident of Franklinton, LA passed away Saturday evening November 5, 2022 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 30, 1946 to the late Virgil Magee and Ines Smith Magee, grew up in Tylertown, MS and was a graduate of Thomas School.

She married James Stanley Hill on February 18, 1966 and served in the ministry, alongside her husband, with pastorships at Little River Pentecostal Church, a pioneer work in Kentwood, LA, Tylertown, MS, Jackson, LA, assistant pastorships in multiple churches, and as Missions Director at Eastgate Church in Vidor, TX.

Evelyn was a homemaker, loving wife and mother to three children. She loved flower arranging and made the arrangements for services at Mt. Zion and Stateline Pentecostal Church for many years. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, making crafts and bird watching. She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother and someone who faithfully served the Lord all her life.

Survived by: Husband of 56 years: James Stanley Hill; 3 Children: Evelyn Darlene Hill-Parks, James Darwin Hill, Donna Kaye Hill; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Monica Blair Parks, Jordan Tyler Parks, Taylor Briane and Christian Felder, Alexander Jeffrey Hill; Great-grandchild: Presley Tyler Parks; Sisters and a Brother in law: Sherry Magee-Ricketts and Barry Ricketts, Helen Magee; Brothers and a Sister in law: Joe and Pauline Magee, Gilbert Magee, Jerome Magee; Former Son in law: Robert A. Parks; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Larry Magee.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Tuesday November 8th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Wednesday with Rev. Leon Hickman and Rev. Brian Bates officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Mt. Zion UPC Facebook page for those not able to attend. Interment will follow in the Stateline UPC cemetery with Rev. W.L. Tullos and Rev. Brandon Wilkins officiating.
